The Consultation Process

• If you have an employment situation that you think might require taking legal action, you should contact our office and speak to our experienced legal assistant.   Our office will help you identify relevant and important facts of your case for legal review. 

• Free of charge, Ms. Noble will analyze your unique facts and determine whether a consultation would be the appropriate next step.  If so, the firm will contact you to set up a convenient appointment time.

• The fee for general consults is $225 although there may be a reduction in the consult fee on a sliding scale depending on a client's income level.  For review of employment documents such as separation agreements or employment contracts, there is a flat fee for review, consultation, notes and ongoing advice. Payment is expected at the time of your appointment and is payable by check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover. 

• At the consult you can expect a confidential discussion that will include: 
  • Taking a detailed history of your employment situation
  • Evaluating information that could support your claims or negotiation position 
  • Presenting options for your next step

• When you come in for a consultation, remember to bring all relevant documents in your possession, such as :
  • Recent performance evaluations
  • Performance improvement plan
  • Offer letter
  • Employment contract
  • Termination notice
  • Employee Handbook
  • Separation Agreement

• After the consultation, if the firm agrees to represent you, the firm will discuss with you in detail the agreement and fees going forward. Contingent fees, or partially contingent fees, may be available.

It is important for you to know that in some cases there are very specific and short statutes of limitations.  Statutes of limitations are deadlines that must be strictly followed and delay may result in a loss of your rights.
